For over three decades, sculptor and lamp maker Hannah Woodhouse has shaped the world of sculptural lighting in bronze and plaster. Her visionary approach to design has earned comparisons to John Galliano in fashion. After years of exhibiting at Sotheby’s galleries in London and New York, she now focuses on a pared-down, elegant collection of plaster wall lights.

On Saturday 14th November from 10.30am, Hannah will talk about her journey from working in high fashion to donning dirty overalls in a bronze foundry, and how she taught herself to colour plaster, using the skills she honed during years of working with bronze.

During Hannah's talk you will get a chance to colour a plaster sample yourself. You will learn how to transform white plaster to a faux bronze finish, using everyday store cupboard ingredients such as red wine, tea and hibiscus leaves. Drinkable inks will definitely be on the menu!

The event commences from 10.30am, with welcome coffee and biscuits. Hannah will then talk through her works and journey, where you learn about colouring and working with plaster. Following the talk, a set two course lunch will be served in the Restaurant and this will include a glass of house wine.
